Connecting the Adult Social Care sector across the South West
Covering Devon, Somerset, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the Adult Social Care Network connects the sector to collaborate, learn, share, align, and work together through a peer-to-peer platform on local and regional health related themes and key enablers.
Health Innovation South West has been leading on a range of projects as part of a portfolio of work to engage, collaborate and improve the care sector across the South West.
The Adult Social Care Network has been used as an example of good work within several national programmes such as The National Patient Safety Improvement programmes and Digital Social Care.
The Network is the ‘engine room’ for activity, engagement, adoption and spread of innovation, improvement, and tests of change across the adult social care sector. It brings together professionals and organisations from across the South West at a quarterly online event to unite effort and attract funding into the care sector whilst spreading innovation and quality improvement, and promoting collaboration for the benefit of the people and families in care.
It supports the wider health pathways and clinical areas with connections to enhanced health in care homes, managing deterioration, medicine safety, dementia, prevention, multiple long-term conditions, quality of care, end of life, transfer of care, mental health and much more.
The network aligns its focus to the priorities of the local health and care systems, while benefitting from new insights and collaboration with a broader audience across adult social care – including the involvement of those with lived experience of adult social care.
The Network continues to host regular regional share and learn events with expert speakers and celebrations of teams and individuals making a difference in adult social care across the South West. Network Events take place online four times a year.
