Brian’s Story – myCOPD
In Cornwall, rates of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are higher than the national average, and patients face long travel distances and limited access to respiratory specialists and diagnostics.
An innovative approach to identifying and managing patients with respiratory conditions has seen hundreds of patients in Cornwall diagnosed earlier and taught how to self-manage at home – keeping care in the community and reducing demand on hospital.
