Advancing Perinatal Culture and Safety
We are excited to be hosting an in-person ‘Advancing Perinatal Culture and Safety’ event Friday 7 March 9am-4pm. This event, held at the Health Innovation South West Office, Exeter, is free to attend and includes lunch.
This event will be useful for all members of perinatal teams working on patient safety, those in education roles, retention roles and digital implementation.
What will we explore during the event?
- Recognising and preventing deterioration in mothers and babies
- Pre-hospital care, maternal triage and early warning tools
- Emphasising the importance of human and team factors
- Supporting South West perinatal teams to improve culture and manage deterioration
- Learning by looking at existing tools and sharing projects
Culture workshop
There will also be an opportunity to attend a workshop about how we can positively impact local safety culture and team working using the Moments framework (a set of resources to support safety culture development). During the workshop, we’ll consider the materials, meanings and skills that teams can use to better understand each other and work together. More details on the framework are here.
Why come to this event?
We want to foster an informal, welcoming, and positive atmosphere, providing a unique opportunity to network with clinical peers from across the South West.
Our office space is great for such events, offering free parking and a nearby rail link for added convenience.
We recognise the value of in-person events for learning, sharing, and connecting outside of daily work routines, despite the challenges they may pose. This event will have lunch and refreshment provision to support peer networking opportunities.
