As part of the Government’s three shifts laid out in the 10-Year Health Plan, the NHS is moving care from hospitals into homes and communities. Digital tools can support this neighbourhood model, but care must be designed around the communities it serves.
Join the Health Innovation Network’s new Innovation Insights webinar, Shifting to neighbourhood care: Lessons in digital adoption from a rural and coastal region hosted by Health Innovation South West.
Rural and coastal neighbourhoods face a unique combination of structural dynamics that increase demand while making delivery more complex. The session will showcase lessons learned in digital adoption across rural and coastal regions in the South West, which can be applied to any location.
The session will spotlight lessons in culture and trust, workforce and hidden labour, and a ‘test and learn’ approach. What do these lessons mean for the NHS and industry – and what can you learn from them as you move to neighbourhood working in the contexts of your own region?
The session will cover:
- Lessons that can guide digital transformation in shifting models of care
- Insights into real-world digital implementation
- Practical tools and tips for adopting digital tools to support neighbourhood care in your own region.
Speakers include:
- Dr Simon Patten, Clinical Director Urgent and Emergency Care, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Paul Hepden, Primary and Community Care Digital Transformation Lead, NHS England South West
- Dr Kelly Hunt, Consultant Community Geriatrician, Hospital @ Home Frailty, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
This event is designed for anyone leading or supporting the introduction of digital tools and/or neighbourhood care models, including:
- Health system leaders
- Service improvement managers
- Clinical directors
- Policy and transformation leads.
