South West Pain Cafe Event

What have we learnt and what’s next?

Join us on 19 November, 11am-1pm for our free online event, which will share how the pain cafe model is being implemented in Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset to support patients living with chronic pain and share learning from NHS systems working to implement them.

Health Innovation South West is supporting the national Medicines Safety Programme work on opioid deprescribing for non-cancer patients and working to enable the spread of pain cafés as a biopsychosocial approach to support this aim, particularly in Devon.

Join us to:
  • Learn how the pain cafe model is being implemented in different settings and what is being learnt
  • Explore ideas to improve pain management and contribute your insights
  • Connect and learn with peers, and for colleagues in Devon to consider setting up a Community of Practice
Speakers include:
  • Kevin Feaviour, Director of Imagine If, developed and implemented Pain Cafes in Cornwall
  • Julie Widdecombe, Director of Chronic Pain Coaching CIC, delivering pain cafes in and around Plymouth, Devon
  • Vicky Wright, Commissioning manager for Long Term Conditions, Somerset ICB
This event is open to anyone interested in pain cafes and in the emerging approach to pain management in Devon. The event is likely to be relevant to those working directly or indirectly with people experiencing chronic pain across primary, secondary, community care, Integrated Care Board, local government, and in the voluntary sector.
